Crystal Description
You can see a polished Labradorite obelisk with a tall upright profile, smoky grey-green body colour, and deep blue labradorescence appearing through the polished faces.
Looking into the front and side faces, the blue flash appears in layered bands and window-like patches, shifting from deep cobalt to brighter turquoise-blue depending on the angle. The polished obelisk form gives the colour a clean architectural frame, with the pointed top adding strong vertical display presence.
This crystal shows smoky grey-green body colour across the darker faces, creating a moody contrast against the brighter labradorescence. Natural mineral veining and darker internal threads run through the stone, adding visual depth and a more organic texture beneath the polished surface.
You can see layered internal zoning throughout the body, with softer blue flashes visible along the side views and more subdued grey-black areas around the rear. Fine internal lines, mineral patches, and subtle reflective windows make the obelisk visually interesting from multiple angles.
This polished Labradorite obelisk brings together deep blue labradorescence, smoky grey-green body colour, layered internal zoning, natural mineral veining, and subtle side flash windows, making it a collectible and visually striking piece with excellent display value.

Labradorite Origins & Background
Labradorite is a visually striking feldspar mineral best known for its vivid flashes of color—an optical effect often referred to as labradorescence. These flashes may appear as blues, greens, golds, oranges, and even purples, seeming to move across the surface as the stone is viewed from different angles.
The stone was first identified in Labrador, Canada, from which it takes its name. Today, notable sources include Canada, Madagascar, Finland, Russia, and parts of Australia. Each locality produces Labradorite with its own characteristic color range and intensity.
Throughout history, Labradorite has been associated with transformation, protection, and hidden potential—qualities reflected in the way its inner fire reveals itself only when viewed from the right angle.
Labradorite is a calcium-rich plagioclase feldspar that forms in igneous rocks such as gabbro, basalt, and anorthosite. The famous labradorescence effect is caused by light interference within microscopic lamellar structures inside the crystal.
These internal layers reflect and refract light, producing the shimmering color play that makes Labradorite so distinctive. Without this internal structure, the stone may appear grey or dark on the surface despite its hidden brilliance.
Labradorite carries a joyful, uplifting, and creative energy. It is traditionally regarded as a crystal of integration—bringing the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies into harmonious alignment.
