💎 USA Tariffs Explained

On August 7th, 2025, the U.S. Government implemented tariffs on goods imported from overseas, including New Zealand. Here’s what this means for you as a customer and how it affects your crystal orders.

📌 What is a Tariff?

A tariff is a tax on imported goods. U.S. Customs charges the tariff, but the cost is ultimately passed to the customer. If you order from overseas, you are legally considered the “importer” of the goods.

🚚 How This Affects Your Order

  1. We pack and ship your order as usual.
  2. When your order arrives in the USA, U.S. Customs may contact you to pay a 15% tariff.
  3. After payment, Customs releases your order to USPS for delivery.

Good news: NZ Post is working with the U.S. Government so that we may be able to collect tariffs at checkout in the future, passing them directly to the authorities. This will make delivery smooth and effortless for you.

🏪 Will Local Shops Be Cheaper?

  • Some U.S. shops may sell existing stock at pre-tariff prices.
  • Crystals mined in the U.S. are exempt from tariffs, but 90%+ of crystals in shops are imported.
  • Any new imported stock will include tariffs, which shops will pass on to customers.
  • Historically, tariffs always result in higher prices for imported goods.

💰 How Our Prices Compare

  • China: 79% tariff
  • Brazil: 50% tariff
  • India: 50% tariff
  • New Zealand: 15% tariff ✅

In many cases, buying from us may actually be cheaper than purchasing from U.S. shops.
